User Reviews about Acer AOD250-1197 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I was mainly looking for a "laptop" that was light with a great battery life and I found it. The battery on this netwbook is great. It is also fast in terms of booting it up, browsing the web, etc. I reccomend using firefox or google chrome.
The only bad thing about this laptop is Windows 7 starter. -- Great buy!
This computer is excellent, the only thing that i didnt like it is that comes with windows 7 and it is a little slow, i have upgraded with 2 gb of RAM and it is still slow, and going to change it to win xp. -- slow win 7
Wonderful for keeping up with e-mail and cruising the internet while travelling. Works great! -- Acer Netbook
Bought this for my son as a Christmas gift 2009. Loved it out of the box- very sexy little netbook, seemed like really good quality, glossy screen was beautiful! keyboard not bad at all for size. wasn't slow at all but we only used it for basic websurfing, email, that kind of thing. then about 1 month later, he goes to turn on the computer and lo and behold there is a menacing black blob on bottom left side of screen with black tentacles extending upwards in a spider's web to the top right of the screen! Looked like a crack but it seemed to be cracked on the INSIDE! The computer had not been dropped or hit or abused or misused in any way! Just had shut it down and put away the night before and everything was fine! well, in a panic I called Acer tech support only to be told that this (screen damage)is not covered under the warranty and was basically blamed for mistreating the computer. Tech told me it might cost $199 to replace screen and I'd have to cover shipping charges to get it to them! SO because Google is my friend, I looked it up and apparently this problem is not uncommon with these Acer netbooks! I also read that Acer KNOWS about this but still tries to blame customers for the problem! Well, long story short, did NOT send back to Acer- instead bought new screen (exact same model) on eBay for about $65 shipped and fixed it myself with help from online video. Netbook works great now, but we now as a rule DO NOT CLOSE LID WHILE COMPUTER IS ON EVEN IF PUTTING IN STANDBY!! It's thought by some that the heat from? battery or something is what caused the screen to crack. So please save yourself some money and some heartache and be careful with yours if you get one!
P.S. When I uninstalled screen, found it was made by Samsung, so this may not be just an Acer problem. -- great little netbook but be careful with screen!!
I puchased this netbook on amazon and my favorite thing about my purchase was the shipping. I did standard shipping and received it immedietly. The netbook has come into great use for me in college consideringit is small and easy to lug around. The only downfall of this product is that it is a tad slow. Other than that it is an excellent product! -- Review for Acer Netbook
